Kansas State University was established in 1858 as Bluemont Central College. It is based in Manhattan, Kansas and also operates out of a second campus in Salina. It is a public research university and currently enrolls more than 23,000 students in its various programs. All the academic programs of the university span across the colleges of Arts and Sciences; Engineering; Business Administration; Education; Agriculture; Human Ecology; Architecture, Planning and Design; Technology and Aviation; and Veterinary Medicine. The university awards bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees.
